Incheon, South Korea, is a port city worth visiting yet easily overlooked

Incheon is very close to Seoul and is connected by subway. From Seoul station to Incheon station by subway line 1 about an hour, the ticket price of ten yuan. Seoul Metro Line 1 connects the entire metropolitan area, and except for some areas, most of it runs on the ground, which is equivalent to our light rail.
Incheon, which belongs to the metropolitan area, is practically integrated with the metropolitan area of Seoul, giving the impression that it is a district of Seoul. So Incheon is a place that is easily overlooked by tourists. In fact, Incheon has its own characteristics. There are many things you can see in Incheon that you can't see in Seoul.

While in Incheon, there are three other places you should not miss. That's Zhonghua Street, Fairy Tale Village and Freedom Park.

The only Chinatown in Korea is in Incheon

Incheon Chinatown called "Zhonghua Street" was mainly initiated by the migration of Shandong people to South Korea. If you want to talk about the representative restaurant of Incheon Chinatown, most people will think of China Yenching Hotel.

The Chinese cuisine here sells Shandong steamed buns such as fried sauce noodles, sweet and sour meat, fried dumplings, seafood noodles, fried noodles and so on. Next is Yanjing Beijing Roast duck, dishes quite a lot, here is a big building, full of Oriental elements, a total of three floors, there are also boxes for guests. Eating here is very ceremonial for Koreans.

The fried chicken we ordered that day was served with a ritual iron plate, and the hot oil was poured on the chicken in front of us. The sizzling sound combined with hot fireworks reflected the Chinese elements vividly. The dumplings here are all homemade Xiaolongbao instead of frozen food from big factories.

Each dish is full of weight, the use of the dish is very particular about the use of heavy ceramic bowls and plates, the decoration style of the restaurant is red Dong dong, the guests are like clouds to the crowd, the service is very good, playing 90 generations of the four Heavenly Kings of the golden song, I think the next time to eat Chinese food, here is definitely the first choice, because the price is very reasonable!

Fall into Songwol Cave Fairy village world
This place used to be a shabby village. Because most of the young people go to the city to work, only some of the old and the sick and disabled stay here, so they can only be left to decay. In 2013, the Incheon city government invested money to repair the houses, paint the walls, and paint murals in order to improve the living environment in the area, which has become a popular tourist spot in Incheon.

At that time, the Korean government hired many artists to turn this sleepy poor village into a "rainbow". Now it has gradually become a small crowd to clock in and take a walk in it when the weather is good. It has a kind of atmosphere of entering a fairy tale theme park, and you can casually see dogs lounging in the sun in traditional Korean houses The stooped old man sat on the pony and smiled at the sky.
Perhaps the real scenery is not this faded mural, but in the noisy modern city, it is not easy to see the precious village leisurely. The murals in Fairytale Village mainly feature characters from famous fairy tales. It's fun to walk down the brightly colored street and slowly admire the lovely murals.

Some group tourists from Southeast Asia and independent tourists from China can also be seen in Fairy Village. But in general, there are not many tourists. Like other attractions, there are many shops, restaurants, cafes and so on. The price is no different from the outside.

After visiting Fairytale Village, a short walk from Matsuki Church in the east of Fairytale Village is Freedom Park. From Chinatown through The Three Kingdoms Mural Street is the main entrance to the Freedom Park.

No one knows about it, but there are so many cherry blossoms!

There were really no people, but the trees were huge, tall and easy to photograph! I like that big plaque very much. I feel like I'm going back to China in a second. The park is big enough to walk around all afternoon! Many Koreans take their dogs and children there to enjoy the cherry blossoms, which is super comfortable.

Freedom Park is just off China Street, and you can walk up and see the port of Incheon, and walk inside and see the small grocery store where The Ghost was shot. There's also a small museum nearby called the Givoopo Club (제물포구락부), where The Phantom was shot! Free admission, also suggested to go in to see ~

Freedom Park is a mountain. In the tall and dense woods, there are walking paths, fitness facilities such as badminton courts and chairs for visitors to rest. Freedom Park visitors are not much, feel very quiet, the natural scenery is also very beautiful. It is also a good place to enjoy cherry blossoms in spring and red leaves in autumn.
